Supply Chain & Markets - Traceability

Background/Context

In seafood supply chains, traceability back to the source of capture or harvest is critical to help ensure that seafood is legal, reported, regulated, and safe. It is also critical to be able to identify, verify, and reward sustainable and responsible production. However, much of the seafood traded today is not traceable, and the required trace is an inefficient and time-consuming process. It is often paper-based or, if digital, done on proprietary, expensive systems that are not interoperable.

Objective/Solution

•  How might we leverage blockchain to create a single source of truth that can verify the journey of a particular seafood catch for all stakeholders involved?
